THIS SPONSOR OF OUR FILM FESTIVAL HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR HEARTS
As our filmmakers know, our required character this year was Ashley or Austin Cheevers and they had to be a winemaker or in the wine industry.
And it just so happens and it is so fitting that one of our final sponsors of the #LA48HFP2017 is the amazing Gustavo Wine which is based out of the most famous place for wine, the beautiful The Napa Valley. Gustavo Brambila is legendary not only for his impeccable wine, but for the vital role he played in Napa's historic legacy as seen in the highly acclaimed film BottleShock. We are thrilled to announce that Gustavo Wine are providing our judges with some of their amazing wines as well as our "Best Film" of LA winner! Please join us by welcoming this legendary Napa Valley winemaker as an official sponsor of the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Project!

A Glimpse of Gustavo Brambila
Gustavo went to the University of Oregon on a baseball scholarship, but it was a short-lived adventure – his heart remained in Napa Valley. He transferred to U.C. Davis, and was one of the first Latino graduates from the oenology program with a degree in Fermentation Sciences. After graduating in 1976 Gustavo joined Chateau Montelena, the starting point to the art of his winemaking style. He would then join Mike Grgich as he opened Grgich Hills Cellars in 1977 – where Gustavo made wines for 23 years. Gustavo has produced wine under his own label since 1996.
Today, Gustavo makes Napa Valley wines in a style inspired by old-world winemaking techniques with a dedication to small vineyards and the highest quality fruit.
Next time you are in Napa Valley, be sure to stop by their tasting room near the Oxbow Public Market where they do cheese and wine pairings as well as barrel tastings with their Master Sommelier Víctor Sánchez Orozco and Gustavo Brambila himself. It's quite a treat that you don't want to miss out on when you are in Napa, so definitely make Gustavo Wines a destination on your next trip there!
