When Gustavo's Barbera 2006 Sierra Foothills, won a blind tasting at the 2009 Bologna Slow Food Film Festival in Bologna, Italy, his Barberas earned their esteemed reputation as a customer favorite! The spring of 2014 saw less rainfall as those long, dry, warm sunny days and cool nights that characterize the regions ideal conditions for traditional Italian Barbera. Inviting floral aromas of wild roses and lilac are followed by intense concentrated flavors of ripe, jammy cherries, strawberries, and lingonberries. Its supple tannins and mild acidity carry these flamboyant, juicy fruit flavors through the pallet and float away tenderly, like a summer breeze!
